Our sweet father, Luis, passed away on Monday June 22, 2020, one day after his 92nd birthday and Father’s Day. Our hearts are broken, but things went as smoothly as we could hope for, given the circumstances. We’re comforted by knowing that after living a long & fruitful life, he is at peace now and with our dear mother Nelly Irueta, along with many loved ones who have passed before him. They are all reunited in heaven.
Luis is survived by his children Luis Jr., Elio and Elena; and grandchildren Stephanie and Alex.
Burial - Thursday July 2, 2020 9am PST
Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills - 6300 Forest Lawn Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90068
The burial service will be on Thursday July 2, 2020 at 9am PST at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. Please be parked at the entrance of the cemetery at 9am for the procession of cars that will drive together to the grave site. Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, the service is limited to the grave site only (there will not be a church ceremony). There will only be a 15 minute service and burial, followed by a short time for snacks and socially distant visiting, at the grave site. Everyone is welcomed to join. Please wear a mask. If you don't have one, one will be provided. While we would love to have your support during the service, we also understand that it is a very difficult time for gatherings. If you have any medical conditions or health concerns, please know that we understand if you cannot make the service, and in these cases we encourage you to stay home.

Thursday, July 2, 9:15am PST
We will live stream the service on Zoom. Everyone is welcomed to join and can do this easily and safely from home. You will be able to see and hear everything, but your cameras and microphones will be off, so transmission will only go one direction (from funeral to you). We'll start the Zoom session around 9:15am. Please be patient as the start time may be delayed. At that time, click here to join the zoom meeting.
Since the service will be so short, please don’t feel obligated to send flowers. Instead, we would love to hear any memories you have of our dear father. Many of you have known him (and us) for decades. There’s no better show of love than keeping his memory alive in stories. If you’d like to share any, please message us as you normally do, or submit a message below. We’d love to hear from you.
Please feel free to share this information with other family and friends.
We appreciate all your calls, messages and notes of love and support during this extremely difficult time. They have helped us tremendously.
With love and appreciation,
Luis Jr., Elio & Elena
